‘TDN Rising Star’ CURLIN’S FOX (f, 3, Curlin–Foxysox {GB} {MGSW, $715,118}, by Foxhound) led wire to wire to dominate the Sandy Blue H. at Del Mar Friday evening. The filly earned ‘Rising Star’ status after a rallying victory on debut sprinting 6 1/2 panels down the hill Feb. 1 and checked in second in the one-mile China Doll S. at that venue Mar. 7. The chestnut ran fourth trying dirt in the GI Santa Anita Oaks Apr. 4 and returned to the grass to capture a down-the-hill optional claimer back in Arcadia May 25. Recently a dull ninth in the GIII Senorita S. over a mile on the turf at Santa Anita June 27, she returned from a brief freshening in this spot. Sent postward as the 2-1 second choice, she went straight to the front and showed the way through a half-mile in :45.78. Never threatened turning for home, she was kept to her task in a four-length romp. Singing Kitty (Ministers Wild Cat) was second best. The final time for one mile was 1:33.25. Lifetime Record: 6-3-1-0, $156,130.
